Tulane's Bookstore Is Now Selling 'National Champions 1998' T-Shirts
Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports
Tulane went 12-0 under Tommy Bowden back in 1998. So the school's bookstore is trying to cash in on UCF declaring that they're National Champions after going 13-0 this year. You can now purchase these “National Champions 1998” t-shirts on campus. Hey, why not?

It seems like some of you are taking this too serious. I am pretty sure they are doing this tough and cheek. In 1896, LSU went 6-0 (seriously. Look it up). We should have earned a NC that year.

How the hell is anyone here taking this seriously? They're clearly just having fun with the whole thing. Let 'em. It doesn't hurt you or your program.

There's thousands of people in Africa that have been walking around with this shirt on for the last 20 years.

A bad day at LSU, is still better than a good day at Tulane.

No, Alabama started this with their mythical championships

We claim the rose bowl championships that were recognized in the day as the national championship. This is not even remotely, same universe close as what ucf and Tulane is doing. Only someone ignorant would think that. That comparison is asinine and stupid. And jealous probably.

The 1941 one is bogus. They rest have a legitimate claim.

The majority of the Tulane students will now probably believe that they actually won the national championship that year. None of those kids know anything about football.

Went to most of their home games that year. Crazy to think that was 20 years ago.
