Texas Made Sure TCU's Band Was Nowhere Near The Field, So They Put Them Here...
© Ben Queen-USA TODAY Sports
Texas did not want TCU's band near the field during their game on Saturday, so they found them a nice little spot right up near the sun...

And so this isn't the first time is it in the LSU game. Time to call Texas classless/

Texas logic: Hey, I bet I know why we've sucked so much lately -- we let the visiting teams be inspired by hearing their bands. Put them in the nosebleeds and CFP, here we come!

Actually, they reached out to the fans and students and asked for suggestions on how to make the experience in DKR more enjoyable. The goal is to increase home field advantage as much as possible. While Alleva and his administration offers lip service, apparently the new Texas AD took the matter to heart and actually did something about it. Kudos to him.

This is not the college football I grew up with. Great job, athletic directors, and your pursuit for more money.

Never cared for visiting teams bringing a band. Seems unnecessary.

Marching bands are a major part of the college football experience.

The home team can’t directly dictate where the visiting band sits. They designate the location of visitor seating but it’s at the discretion of the visiting school as to where they place their band in those seats.

Effective this season, Texas has abolished all visitor seating in the lower bowl of DKR. This includes visiting bands. The Big XII allows it, so the GBFTL will be in the exact same location that the TCU band was in. I have no idea if the SEC allows this or not, but it's an interesting precedent that Texas is setting. The reasoning behind the move was to make the game time experience better for Longhorn fans, particularly the students. You'd never see anything like this from Alleva.

Solution is simple. Don't send LSU's full band next year, but just their travel band. If the longhorns places the travel band in the upper deck, then return the favor when they play in Death Valley.

The BXII lets Texas do whatever it wants- they could proposed public execution of a visiting mascot and they'd vote it in their bylaws for Texas only to be able to do it. Horns down.

TCU does the same exact thing to other school’s bands

To be fair, their stadium is so small, does that even matter?

Mississippi St. did it to Auburn's travel band about 7-8 years ago.

They better not try that crap next year when the Golden Band from Tigerland shows up.

Tiger Band will be in the same location that the TCU band was in.

I think it's funny. I also think Texas has a legit shot to win the Big12. Where does the visiting band normally sit when they travel to Texas?

The visitor seating used to be in the far end of the east lower deck. Their band would usually sit there. That area is now part of the student section and all visitor seating has been moved to the upper levels.

You know your team is shite when you are worried about the placement of the visiting team's band in your stadium

Would be epic if a runaway bass drum just so happened to find its way over the ledge...

Agreed Gunbeaux that’s pretty shitty. Of course they will come up with a reason of sorts but it’ll be BS. Texas right now has no confidence at all in anything and it’s showing

Giving the best seats to your own fans is classless? I wish LSU would follow suit and remove all visitor seating from the lower bowl.

100% classless. How tacky is that?

Giving your best seats to your fans and the shittiest ones to the opposing band? I love it.
