Paul Finebaum Goes In Very Hard On Florida State Hiring Willie Taggart
© Melina Myers-USA TODAY Sports
Florida State is off to a 1-2 start this year and ESPN college football analyst Paul Finebaum is not holding back when it comes to the hiring of Willie Taggart as head coach last year...
quote:

“What idiot, what blubbering moron decided Willie Taggart was worth a $17 million buyout? Has anyone bothered to look at this career record? He’s 53-59 overall. He was 7-5 at Oregon. He had a losing record a Western Kentucky and South Florida. This guy is not a winner, but some athletic director gave him a big six-year contract with a $17 million buyout. Someone may need to pour lemonade on his head. If you want to hire Willie Taggart to wreck your program, $17 million buyout is available,” Finebaum said on ESPN’s Get Up!.

Finebaum added on ESPN’s Golic & Wingo that Florida State should consider moving on.

“Now should they consider getting rid of him? Absolutely,” Finebaum said. “There is virtually nothing he has done right in two very short years. Last year was a disaster. This year, they gave up a three-touchdown lead to [Boise State]. They beat Louisiana Monroe on a missed extra point in overtime and last week, they lost to a good, a good Virginia team, maybe one of the better teams in the ACC. Which by the way guys, is not saying very much. After Clemson, the ACC has nothing.”

I think we all know why FSU hired Taggert. He did not have the resume to warrant his rise in CFB.

whether you like Finebaum or not, what did he say that was wrong? He's right on this one.

Didn't PFB share the same sentiment about Coach O using Ole Miss transitive figures?

Reality is Florida State is a burning dumpster fire of putrid pig fat. They have to settle for what they can get and pay what it takes to right the ship. My thinking is, why did the Aggies hired the coach that filled the dumpster with putrid pig fat and lit it.

The respected, football savvy alumni of Florida State like Deion Sanders need to get together and figure out a remedy to that mess and pick a successor to Taggart or get some competent coordinators in Tallahassee.

Taggert has picked up right where Jimbo left off. He left a dumpster fire at FSU. LSU is super lucky to not have Jimbo.
