Paul Finebaum Didn't Hold Back When Speaking To Ohio State Fans After Loss To Clemson
Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports
ESPN's Paul Finebaum has a message to Ohio State fans who continue to complain about the officiating in Saturday night’s Fiesta Bowl loss to Clemson...
quote:

“That game should have been 28-0,” Finebaum said. “It’s futile to come down and agonize over a call. Ohio State was on the verge of blowing them out, they didn’t, they lost the game, and I really don’t care anymore.”
Ouch.

He is not wrong. Those call I think we’re wrong, but shot o it selves in the foot. No one to blame to but ourselves. Period!

The only call I saw the refs got wrong was the fumble and they didn't count Ohio St TD on that said he didn't have ball long enough. In real time he didn't have it long enough but there were so many dumb plays that Ohio didn't capitalize on. Bucks lost that game squarely on themselvs. Buts it a blue print of what the tigers see can do vs Clemson. Geaux tigers beat Clemson.

He is right, and I do not see it as harsh. The targeting was close and the fumble call was wrong. OSU failed in the red zone 3 times resulting in 9 points. The final interception was miscommunication with Olave who also was great all season. It is why the game is played. The calls are frustrating but we lost. I only hope LSU and the fightin' Burreauxs clean Dabo's clock. Their WRs are great but can be contained. Trevor is tougher than I thought but I hope you can "shake him up". Good luck!

We are The Fighting Joe Burreauxs for one more game and one more win. Joe B. will live for a thousand years in the hearts of LSU fans whenever LSU football is discussed. He is Immortal.

How in the hell did Ohio St miss on Joe Burrow? I saw something in him, the tiger staff saw it, the Ohio St fans saw it, but Ohio bucks staff didn't see it. I know there are lots LSU fans around Joe burrows town. Will be a fun game I just trying to get in the dome, those tickets are damn expensive like 1200 a ticket.

This happens when you get a Georgia quarterback lol.

Trevor Lawrence is a Georgia QB. His home residence is 18 miles from where Justin fields made most his life in Georgia. Georgia likes Fromm for some reason no clue why

You aren't too bright are you? JK Dobbins doesn't drop 2 TDs passes, OSU wins easily. Trevor Lawrence is also a Georgia QB.

Throwing the ball to Clemson player with no Ohio St. player near with 30 seconds left on clock may have had something to do with the loss, don't you think??

I can bet you every single Ohio fan said to themselves after that throw. We had Joe Burrow.

The throw was fine, the receiver broke off his route because he thought Fields was running. But I wouldn't wanna bring facts into this and ruin your dumb opinion

We picked a QB that threw for 50 TDS, set numerous big ten records, and was a Heisman finalist, and a first round pick. It's not like Burrow set the world on fire last year so maybe, just maybe, Urban made the right choice at the time

SEC officials are known all over as the worst in the sport. You have to prepare for that.

Ohio St lost that game. 3 trips to the red zone and only getting field goals, running into the kicker, targeting call. Ohio State had that game no problem. Look at tressel, Urban Meyer a few years ago vs Clemson and now Ryan day vs Clemson. They teach their teams to play angry but can't control it. If Dobbins would have gotten his hands under that ball in end zone, extra 4 points, that extra 4 points would be plenty for bucks to play smart at end and just kick a field goal if needed and if no running into kicker. Clemson would not have those points on board that drive, but what u always look at in a game. If game was close what could u have done better? If game was a blow out u would forget about it correct? That's what everyone is saying. Ohio St will never sniff a Natty if the head coach does not correct those dumb calls. Bucks had control, bucks gave Clemson momentum. I believe that analysts is 100 percent right Ohio bucks should have beat Clemson in a shutout but dumb mistakes and don't take care of what they need to do when the goal is right in front of them. Time to move on, don't dwell on coulda woulda shoulda. Burrow wanted the starting job at Ohio bucks really bad, he was told no so he moved on and look what he has done. When opportunity is in front of you. Take it and run with it.

I agree. I recall thinking after the 3rd field goal that Ohio State is leaving the door wide open for Clemson to win the game. Too many points left out there Had to figure Clemson would get back in it at that point

If only Ohio State could count on “the best player in college football” in Chase Young. Instead he delivered 2 tackles, 0 sacks, and 1QB hurry. Such dominance.

You're still salty about Kirby's choice, aren't you?

He's a physical freak and has great potential. Buuuut, too many games with zero stats, and 2 tackles 0 sacks and 1 hurry is a bad day for most defensive players. Dominant player????, in his mind. Gotta have stats man. Should not have been I invited to NY in my opinion.

Finebaum is dead wrong. Calls can get missed on the field. There is no excuse to EVER erroneously overrule a call on replay though. Never! Yet SEC officials make a habit of it. A spade is a spade, Pawwwl. Call it what it is.

What happened to Goldie Locks the self proclaimed most dominant player in CFB? As usual, a no show in the big game.

The targeting call was the correct call although the rule needs to be tweaked. The strip fumble should have stood. Given all that, OSU still should have won that game. Too many mistakes and it eventually caught up to them.

He speaks the truth, OSU had their chance, Clemson just sucks less.

28-0 is a bit much, but Paul meant that OSU should've scored TDs instead of FGs to make the lead much bigger. We all were saying the same thing watching the game - OSU was dominating but kicking FGs was keeping Clemson in the game and all it would take is a big play for Clemson to swing the momentum, and it was the targeting call on Lawrence that did that.

Jesus this guy knows nothing. Ohio State had a good D with a glass cannon on offense. Clemson made adjustments on both sides and Ohio State couldn't .

"So you morons don't realize how 1 dimensional Ohio State was?" One dimensional? Fields threw for 320 yards and Dobbins ran for damn near 200 yards. There's nothing one dimensional about that unless my sarcasm detector is broken.
