That's just sad. Great season, not voted National Champion by any poll, live with it, join a real conference, get in the playoffs and win, then you are Champs!

They can claim a mythical national title. Just about every school that claims a football title in NCAA Division 1 claims the same thing.

No it's not the same thing ... Schools claiming national championships in the past "before playoffs began" were all voted national champions in one or more polls .... They all had a legitimate claim, that's why some years there were multiple national champions! .... NOW we have a playoff to determine the national champion, CFU has no legitimate claim!

I'm glad UCF is declaring LSU is the 2011 National Champions. Nice to have someone in your corner who has your back.

UCF's claim is just as legitimate as the Gumps, and maybe even more. Alabama was the champion of a four team "tournament" with selection criteria that are manipulated by television ratings and the pro-Bama jihad at ESPN. Auburn was more deserving of being in the playoffs than Alabama. Wisconsin was more deserving. Ohio State was more deserving. UCF was more deserving. But Alabama, who finished THIRD in their conference, got yet another "do-over". Ha, the old BCS mantra was "every game matters" until ESPN didn't like the result of that. So Alabama, whose best win was against a mediocre LSU team, got in over- The Champion of their division who they lost to head to head. A team who had 12 FBS wins to their 10, who won it's division in a similarly tough conference and had a close loss in its title game The Champion of the aforementioned conference And the only undefeated team in the country.

Be proud of your undefeated season, don't shite all over it by calling yourself some mythical national champion.

Meh, I have no problem with anything that will piss off the NCAA Guys were undefeated and the NCAA has a shithole system of allowing teams in playoff. This is the fault of the ncaa

Being pissed and raising a stink about not having the proper shot at playing for a National championship is perfectly acceptable. Just deciding to call yourself a champion, however, is not. Hindsight shows us they should have been in the playoffs. But that doesn't mean they were going to win.

This is typical liberal thinking exemplified. Reality doesn’t matter. If I want it, then it’s true no matter what the truth really is.
