Miami's Tate Martell Loses QB Battle Then Doesn't Show Up To Practice

Miami head coach Manny Diaz officially named Jarren Williams his starting QB on Monday, which didn't sit well with QB Tate Martell who then decided not to show up to practice.

“All three guys showed tremendous improvement and development, which is a credit to their hard work and the work of Dan Enos and his offensive staff,” Diaz said. “We believe we can win with all three guys, however, we feel like Jarren has the greatest upside due to his passing ability, his instincts and his determination.”

Martell transferred to Coral Gables from Ohio State in January in the wake of Justin Fields’ decision to leave Georgia and play for the Buckeyes.

Tate Martell was never that good. Then he goes to THE Ohio State University and is heir apparent. Then Martell basically threatens Justin Fields that if he comes to THE Ohio State, he will be his backup. Fields calls his bluff, transfers to THE Ohio State and Martell goes in the portal within a week. Now Martell goes to the U, doesn't win the job and here he goes quitting again. What an entitled little punk. You ain't very good and you have overestimated your ability. Reality smacking you in the face - time to grow up.

I watched that kid in QB1. Has a lot of talent, but his parents raised an entitled punk. He is a result of parents not holding their son accountable and thought it was great he was another Johnny Football in the making. His attitude and mental game will wash him out as a HS star and that is all.
