Miami's Tate Martell Loses QB Battle Then Doesn't Show Up To Practice
© Reinhold Matay-USA TODAY Sports
Miami head coach Manny Diaz officially named Jarren Williams his starting QB on Monday, which didn't sit well with QB Tate Martell who then decided not to show up to practice.

quote:

“All three guys showed tremendous improvement and development, which is a credit to their hard work and the work of Dan Enos and his offensive staff,” Diaz said. “We believe we can win with all three guys, however, we feel like Jarren has the greatest upside due to his passing ability, his instincts and his determination.”
Martell transferred to Coral Gables from Ohio State in January in the wake of Justin Fields’ decision to leave Georgia and play for the Buckeyes.

Tate Martell was never that good. Then he goes to THE Ohio State University and is heir apparent. Then Martell basically threatens Justin Fields that if he comes to THE Ohio State, he will be his backup. Fields calls his bluff, transfers to THE Ohio State and Martell goes in the portal within a week. Now Martell goes to the U, doesn't win the job and here he goes quitting again. What an entitled little punk. You ain't very good and you have overestimated your ability. Reality smacking you in the face - time to grow up.

Wonder if that smoking hot chic of his dumped him after hearing he’s not QB1.

The kid is a stone cold baller - but only in a Read/Option or very similar offense. Blinn College in Texas didn't hurt Cam Newton any.

I watched that kid in QB1. Has a lot of talent, but his parents raised an entitled punk. He is a result of parents not holding their son accountable and thought it was great he was another Johnny Football in the making. His attitude and mental game will wash him out as a HS star and that is all.

I don’t think Martell wants anything to do with Myles Brennan. MB kicked his arse for a whole week at the Elite 11 competition. He hasn’t forgot it either.

He got bad advice from a former buckeye with no chest, telling him he can start without competing if he transfer.only in the south a qb that is 4th or 3rd string at one school and handed the starting job in 2 months at another.

1. Low chance Joe ever spoke to this dude in the 24 hour span between learning his spot on the depth chart, you're a moron. 2. He competed by both being exceptionally good behind and NFL qb he was damn near on par as well as competed in the spring and summer. You're a moron. 3. That no chest qb had only 2 years left and no time to sit another season, that qb is also known as one of, if not the toughest qb in the nation. He took a monster hit by ucf and smoked them after. You're a moron. 4. He was 2nd string. You're a moron. Also, in case you missed it, you're a moron. How do you be wrong about so much is so few sentences? Never post again, come back when you graduate kid.

If he would fill up his left arm with tattoos to match his right arm he may be more successful.
