While Urban Meyer continues to make headlines in his return to Ohio State this week, Ian O’Connor’s new book, "Belichick: The Making of the Greatest Football Coach of All Time," shares an interesting story about what the former Florida Gators coach reportedly told NFL teams who were thinking about drafting former star TE Aaron Hernandez. Per the book...

While coaching the University of Florida, Urban Meyer warned at least one NFL team that it should not draft his talented but troubled tight end, Aaron Hernandez. Meyer told that team, “Look, this guy’s a hell of a football player, but he f—ing lies to beat the system and teaches all our other guys to beat the system. With the marijuana stuff, we’ve never caught this guy, but we know he’s doing it. … Don’t f—ing touch that guy.” An official with that NFL team said he was taken aback when Meyer’s friend, Belichick, drafted Hernandez in the fourth round. “I never understood that,” the official said.

When he was at UF, before CTE, a girl was killed and a large Hispanic man with a lot of tats was seen dumping her body. G'ville cops never thought of AH.

If his head was that bad, it started before UF. Notice I didn't say he isn't responsible for his behavior, only that I was curious--CURIOUS-- about any effects it may have had. When neurons in your frontal lobe start dying-- you know, the ones responsible for impulse control-- it certainly makes sense that any pre-existing tendencies he had in place might be magnified.

I’m sure UM said this after his Florida career was over. If this really mattered to him, he would have faced severe discipline. Despite numerous run ins with the law while at Florida, he faced little to no discipline

Exactly. And he scared off other teams so his friend Belicheat could draft him in the 4th round. These two guys are dirty but I guess that's part of what makes them great at winning. Shitty humans, though.
