While I think Bama claiming the first 5 of their national championships is ridiculous, all of those years have other teams claiming or could claim a national championship, but they weren't self proclaimed. UCF is totally self proclaimed.

Frost wishes he could only coach an SEC team.

I would take Frost right now. The Gumptards have their own mythical championships.

Who (besides UCF) recognizes UCF as national champs? In order to hang a banner, don’t you typically have to cite a source?

Frost is a f'n boss, no matter how you look at. He's a straight-shooter and Nebraska is gonna be dangerous as long as he's in charge.

He make them respectable again but they stepped up in competition when they joined the B1G. They'll be like Iowa or Wisconsin.

UCF beat Auburn handily......the same cannot be said for Alabama. Bama got into the playoff because Saban pissed and moaned and politicked his way in. UCF beat Auburn , you Gumps could not.

They beat a 3 loss team that had nothing to play for other than pride. They did not beat them handily. It was tied after three quarters. Safe to say that losing the turnover battle lost AU the game.

So Utah should have won the NC in 08? over Florida that year?

Not "his guys" any longer. Frost needs to shut up and deal with the dumpster fire at his current job.

Why so many down votes? The dude was just posting facts.

Referenced this in that Kanell story. Kanell might not have a strong point, but Frost is just swinging at the softball Saban threw him. Most coaches could get away with remarks about "self-proclaimed" titles, but not an Alabama coach...

I can't wait until Bama schedules UCF in the next few years. I'll take an early stab and say it'll be Bama by 63 pts.

wtf does a game in the future have to do with last years team? UCF mighta fricked yall up last year. But you'll never know because while UCF went undefeated and didnt get into the playoff, you dickwads got in after not even winning your division much less your own conference. so maybe learn to be humble. better yet, hop off tigerdroppings and quit riding that tiger cock. isnt there a place for your people to congregate? like a state fair or monster truck rally?

The comments will end up as extra incentive, I think, the next time Alabama plays either UCF or Nebraska. You can be certain they'll come up again even if it's 4 or 5 years from now.

Bama won't be scheduling UCF.

I think the point is that those championships, while flimsy, were at least recognized by SOMEBODY other than the University.

Exactly. Good point.

This is a lot more simple than people make it. Prior to the bcs, you could claim anything. Once they put together the current system, all the teams bought into it and agreed to the rules of it. Bama is the national champion, and the only one, let’s all just deal with it.

It doesn’t mean it’s a good system though

“All the teams bought into it and agreed to the rules of it”... whatever helps you sleep at night. That is like saying the slaves agreed to come from Africa. What recourse do small teams like UCF or Troy have? They have no money or anyone to fight for them.
