Grammy Award winners Imagine Dragons will perform at halftime of the College Football Playoff championship game on Jan. 7.

ESPN and Interscope Records announced the performance Monday.

For the second consecutive season, the College Football Playoff will feature a Super Bowl-type halftime performance for the television audience. The school bands will still perform at halftime of the game in Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

I don't need halftime shows in my college football. This is stupid.

I think this extends halftime too long. The game should always be more important than the pomp and circumstance.

I don’t understand “performers” for football games. In college you have bands to perform. And I don’t think NFL fans five a rats arse about Lady Gaga, Maroon 5, or whoever the hell else is performing at halftime. There’s probably about 10 fans in attendance that this is accommodating.

I wonder if they’ll throw the football in the traditional overhand way or use the chest pass?
