© Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports
Former Ohio State WR and close friend of Urban Meyer, Cris Carter, went into detail describing the health issue that is forcing the Buckeyes coach into retirement...

quote:

“Urban’s a very, very close friend of mine…. His biggest problem is he wants to coach, but physically he can’t coach. He can’t do this anymore.

I think it’s been well-documented, as far as the cyst on his brain. When he gets agitated, upset… when he gets in coaching mode, it becomes very to almost impossible for him to coach because the cyst begins to leak fluid, which leads to – not a migraine headache, but a splitting headache.

When we saw him double over on the sideline, that was not because of anything else but the cyst and it rupturing. There’s a few things potentially that he could do, he could rest…. The second one is to have a procedure done where they could relieve the pressure [from] the procedure he had done a couple of years ago, but you’re opening up the brain – and that’s not coming with a great deal of encouragement by the specialist who is working on him.

And the third thing is what we saw today, was Urban Meyer resigning as the coach at Ohio State.”

“I refused to go to the Michigan game. I went to the Big Ten Championship, and that’s because Urban wanted me there. I thought something else was going to happen on the sideline before we were able to get to this day. Urban Meyer, he really can’t coach. He shouldn’t be coaching, and I would argue that he shouldn’t have been coaching the last month.”

He looks pretty happy and energetic when they are winning.

yep. Everyone knows the cyst is just a convenient excuse. His retirement was decided at the beginning of the season, with the Zach Smith issue.

Not saying the cyst is real or not, but the explanation is that when agitated it becomes a big deal. If he's winning then the explanation would hold and he would be fine. Losing and tough times would make it worse. No team is perfect (at least not for long) so he would always have problems at some point.

If he doesn't report the cyst is it still as problem?

Would you rather have integrity or a cyst?? He chose the cyst.

Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone. Plenty of hypocrites in this comment thread.

That's not how cysts work. They don't leak under pressure lol. Also, anyone who has ever had a legit migraine knows that's the worst. Splitting headache is laughable in comparison.

I'm not saying Cris Carter is FOS, but there are medical processes related to Interventional Neurology that are specifically related to treat these types of abnormalities. Meyer certainly has the wherewithal to avail himself of these treatments. Meyer has a well documented history of using this medical condition to remove himself from less than flattering situations.

Les Miles had surgery years ago for a cyst on the brain didn't he?

I read that to myself in Chris Carter’s voice and dialect

Urban said he was retiring so he could spend more time following his true passion...covering up domestic violence.

Seemed like when he was winning and didn't have the Zach Smith allegations against him, the cyst never "leaked" and he coached just fine (unless he lost a game)

I didn't realize that being an insufferable douchebag with no moral compass was a medical condition.

He left Florida because of 'health' issues. A year later, Hernandez gets indicted for murder, and it come out he was getting away with all sorts of shite at UF. Now, a couple months after it is revealed Meyer knew all about an assistant coach beating his wife, he has another 'health' issue. Wonder what's going to emerge in a year's time?

I would have a headache too after dealing with the crap he brought on himself this year... Both Meyer and CC are proven liars who have teamed up. I watched some of the press conference yesterday (made me want to puke) a lot of the questions were developing the narrative and leading CUM into this "pitty" story. CUM is a weasel and this is just one POS trying to help his POS friend out by supporting the narrative.

And I refuse to listen to CC spew any kind of gibberish regarding a cyst on the brain... or any other medical condition. I don't care if CUM does have a cyst on the brain, CC is not credible enough to speak on the matter. When CUM's neurologist from the hospital he frequents comes out and explains what is going on in CUM's head, I will listen.

Right, and before someone calls you an insensitive jerk why have I never heard of this condition ever before or where are all the people struggling with it?

CC is dumb as frick. Until I see a CT scan and a biopsy report I will comtinue to say that urban is a lying piece of shite. It’s amazing how shite never seems to bother him when they are winning.

They went 12-1 this year moron. I know winning is pretty foreign to State fans but 12-1 is pretty good.

Pretty odd he would lie about the existence of a cyst given that they are pretty common. But it IS odd that he would blame it on the cyst, given that they are pretty common, and rarely debilitating. I agree it's a cop out. If a benign and presumably easily treatable condition is causing you debilitating symptoms to the point of costing you millions of dollars doing a job you love, one would think you treat it. I don't know how you could possibly objectively prove this thing is leaking unless you can document pronounced changes in size over multiple CT scans in a short to medium time frame. And if you're literally at the point where you're going through that level of effort for a debilitating condition, you get it fixed. The fact of the matter is this has been there for decades and possibly his entire life, and it was never an issue before. He needed an out so he made up an unverifiable claim.

As a rocket surgeon that explanation if tucking BS. Cysts don't leak because your agitated.

Seems like if this were vaild, that he could drop dead from literally coaching, then Ohio St/NCAA wouldn't allow him to coach.

So why the big uproar over him being placed on administrative leave? Sounds like the dude should be getting treatment and relaxing.
