He is right though. We don't need a 40-50-60 team league, not even 20. Maybe it should max out at 12 states and 16-18 teams (8 or 9 each side) and within so many miles of each other... from the middle of that regions map, where a school cannot be more than so many miles from the middle point of the states involved. Example: Pick Jackson, Ms. as the center point for the SEC, then all the schools need to be 700 miles from Jackson to be an SEC member. That knocks out due to distance Miami, Ohio State, North Carolina, West Va. etc. And you can't load up because you have a max of say 16-18 where SEC would be with Texas and OK because they are coming and would still be within 700 miles. 2 choices left to get to 18 and cannot go 700 miles from Jackson to shop a Penn State, or USC, or Michigan, etc. Clemson would be well inside the 700 miles but do they want to come compete in the SEC? One way to make it real interesting is to try to get Clemson and Houston added and SEC would be at the max of 18 teams. You pull a great Clemson team in and you get your teams to fly into Houston and showcase your program to all those young High school kids in Houston. That would hurt recruiting for Texas, A&M, LSU and Oklahoma, as these kids could see Bama, Georgia, Florida etc, close up

You ought to hear the Sports Radio up here in ACC Country. Absolutely ridiculous. They have such a little brother complex and go nuts on any SEC Fans that call in. They hate LSU and GA fans here in Greenville, SC.

I agree with folks that Dabo is a whiny little bitch but he's probably not too far off with this. Down the road I wouldn't be surprised at all if something like that comes to pass, the NCAA is eventually going to get the boot, at least where football is concerned

The more expansion you have, the greater the probability that Clemson might actually have a team in its conference that is any good. That is what Dabo is really concerned about.

Been saying for years we would see 4 big super conferences that only play each other eventually.

Yep. 4 superconferences of 16 teams. Basically an 8 team playoff.

funny how he always seems to have a bitchy response to questions. it's very similar to a resting bitch face except he uses words.

Actually what he said is what came to mind to me when UTa and OU made the decision to move. I think the major conferences will split from the NCAA and govern themselves and make money hand over fist. That way they can control the game, the tradition, and the money.

He said he was going to quit coaching college ball if players get paid. Why is he still at Clemson much less offering opinions on the future of college ball?
