Apparently, Texas Has These 2 Backup Coaching Choices If Urban Meyer Says 'No'
© Michael C. Johnson-USA TODAY Sports
All this "who will replace Tom Herman" talk and the dude is STILL the Longhorns head coach. We already know that Texas officials have met with Urban Meyer this week about taking over the program, once Herman is canned. If that doesn't pan out, it's being reported they have two coaches they're looking at going to next. Per CBS Sports...
quote:

If Meyer isn’t interested, look for the pecking order to start with Penn State’s James Franklin with Oregon’s Mario Cristobal next in line.

Not helping the situation: Last month, Herman lost Quinn Ewers, the top-ranked quarterback in the Class of 2022. Ewers dropped Texas and committed to Ohio State.
Any guesses who Texas' new head coach will be come kick off next year?

Cristobal hasn't done shite. Franklin went from Vandy to Penn state and made them competitive with top tier of conference. That being said, pretty shitty Tejas is interviewing coaches while Herman is still employed.

I think Herman will survive.

They can have O. We’ll even throw in having him ride Bevo onto the field when they run out of the tunnel every week

Gameday Saturdays are not carbon neutral and college football is not consistent with sustainability. Football is mysogonistic by nature. We would prefer that it be discontinued. Short of that, selecting a person of color as head coach would be a good first step.

So you're suggesting that greater racial diversity in head coach hires would run the sport into the ground? I'm not suggesting that, but your post is.

Why would he leave Oregon? Great support and facilities up there. Easy conference.
