Penny seems to believe this incoming recruiting class is going to be the next Fab 5. The Fab 5 was an exceptional group. Not necessarily in talent (though they were very talented with 3 having very good NBA careers) but they were exceptional in the chemistry they had. Talent doesn't always equal victories. Virginia wasn't an overly talented team, but they had chemistry and they had the right pieces to win it all. Plus a little favoritism from the refs. Point is, it takes more than a team of McDonalds All Americans to be a really good team.

Unc, Kentucky, Duke, Kansas. Maybe ucla. Those are the blue bloods. Borderline ones are the Villanovas, Notre Dame, zags, Oklahoma, Florida. I love LSU but we aren’t blue bloods. WW is gonna get us there though!

Florida and Nova are one thing, but ND and OU are not ahead of LSU on program prestige (history, final fours, conference titles, etc.). ND has been to ONE final four. OU has been to 5, but 2 of those were pre-1950. Gonzaga is an outlier. They have been consistently good for at least the last 20 years, but still only have one final four.
