one of the reasons I hate baseball. All the balls are the same. Use the one the umpire gives you. If you stall, there should be a penalty involved.

Want to guess how I know you never played baseball?

I’m sure there are minor leaguers willing to pitch for him.

How can you blame the guy. Their careers are always on the line. Pitching in the rain blows.

What a little bitch. When did it become impossible to play baseball in the rain. You literally stand in place 95% of the time.

The pitcher obviously doesn't stand in place.

Would you want a pitcher throwing fastballs with a wet ball at you? Also as a pitcher, would you want to throw wet balls knowing you couldnt control it properly and lose the game or hit a guy. This was the correct call. Ump should have delayed the game, but refused because it was the 8th inning and didnt want to stay up or play the next day

I personally would not want to stand in the batters box facing a 98mph heater that the pitcher has no control over where it’s going because the ball is soaking wet.

This. All these retards bitching about being woke or not being manly or whatever bullshite they're spouting have no idea why Sims didn't want to throw. It's fricking dangerous when the ball is that wet. And shame on that ump for not calling them in

What a princess. Last time I checked the umps decide when to call the game. Until then......don't act like you've never done it before. You did it your entire young life playing baseball. He's got balls, but I bet the league will have a comment.

Bunch of Couch Hall of Famers who have definitely never played baseball at a level above middle school in these comments. No way in hell I'm taking 90 + mph pitches off a guy in the rain. That pitcher will have 0 control of what he's throwing you fricking morons.

It was hail, sleet, rain, a downpour and 35 degrees.

This board mocks Simms as you root for a team with a retractable roof. If it ain't 70 they cover you up and turn on the heat. But go on about the 35 degree rain, sleet, hail and downpour which the game was canceled 3 minutes later.

I'm probably an odd ball but I think no professional game or major sporting event should be played where rain/snow etc could affect them. No need for it. Think about a Superbowl in the rain in Miami!!! I just think they have too much on the line to play in inclement weather

The Bears beat the Colts had it not been raining during Super Bowl XLI.
