It's been 29 years since Houston Astros Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan showed Robin Ventura what's up in one of the MLB's most famous brawls...

Nolan just went to work on his arse. No bullpens running in from outfield, no yelling at each other, Nolan just got busy.

I remember some kid in school tried to pick a fight with me not to long after this happened. He ran up on me and I remembered the old Ryan express and went to work on him

Again no hits for Robin against The Great Nolan Ryan.
Nolan career records: most no-hitters of all time, most one-hitters of all time. most two-hitters of all time, most three-hitters of all time. Who's gonna top that?

A month before this I saw win #321 getting lucky with tickets with him coming off the DL. Of course the legend grew after the Ventura fight.

What was so great is that Ryan remained in the game. Today he would have to take sensitivity training.

GAWD....great memories. Crazy how I recognize most of the players, but show me a fight on the field today I couldn't name/recognize a single player. Maybe a coach that use to play back in the day, but not a current player. Sad.

Nolan was one of those things we referred to as "a man" back in the day. I guess they don't make 'em anymore.

one of the very few legit baseball fights I've seen, but old man Ryan was giving it to the kid. Ryan was 20 years older than Ventura, and kicked his arse.
