Former LSU defensive back Kary Vincent Jr. has signed a four-year deal with the Denver Broncos according to reporter Mike Klis.

Vincent opted out of the 2020 season and was selected by the Broncos in the 7th round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Datbayoubengal No. On all 3 counts. His speed would have gotten him to the play a step late just like in the Natty year.

Had he played he would have at least been a fourth round pick. The guy was doing great the back half of last year and the combo of him, Stingley, and Ricks would have offset a lot of the bad defense we had last year

He also would have been better off as a free agent than drafted in the 7th round. 3 year contract instead of 4.

Lots of STUPID in these comments. 1. He is NOT set for life. 2. The only thing he is guaranteed is the 100k signing bonus. 3. The rest of the deal is a MINIMUM salary for a player as required by the NFL. 4. He has to make the 53 man roster each year to get that year's salary. 5. The chances that a UDFA or a 7th round pick make the 53 man roster is very small. (He better get on SPECIAL TEAMS) 5. He will most likely end up on the 10 man reserve practice squad since he has not played on a while and the pay will get cut down to 150k/season for that season.

They'll get back every penny through the work they make him do is what I meant. Just like in any other sport---you do your best as a team to get the most out of what you spent your money on before you cut ties (if you can).

I call bullshite on the 4 year bit. If he got 100 then that's probably all that's guaranteed. And you can bet your arse they'll get back every penny even if/when he ends up on the practice squad. Irresponsible reporting by somebody.

everybody knows he has the speed just hope he can develop into a good nfl db. If he makes it then it only looks better for DBU!

That's a really healthy contract for a 7th rounder. Something does not seem right about it.

Good for him, but he needs to make the team each year to receive full value. Unless he makes the team this year, he is only guaranteed the signing bonus of $103,412

They obviously see something more than a 7th-rounder who might not make the team to offer him that.

That is my understanding as well. If he doesn't make the team the Broncos are only out the signing bonus. The rest of the deal goes proof. He aint set for life. Not yet anyway.

Sitting out affected his stock. I felt he was much more like a mid-round pick talent with his elite speed and playmaking abilities. He is on the small side and struggled with coverage at first, but he transformed and was awesome down the stretch in 2019 with some awesome interceptions.

Yup. It was a terrible decision. People can downvote it but he went from a 2nd or 3rd round pick if he stayed and continued improving to a 7th round pick.

This guy got some really bad advice to opt out. These players really need some type of career advisors to prevent things like this

Bad advice? He’s set for life if he doesn’t blow the money and invests wisely.

@gene set for life? Where? Venezuela?

Yes and no. Playing for Pelini probably wouldn't have done much to boost his stock. Would have been blowing coverages and missing assignments because of the bad coaching. Of course, there a strong possibility that if he plays last year and falls off the board, he might have played his way into a high draft pick in 2021.

I hope he makes the team.

Some 7th rounders don't even make the roster. They must see something they like in him.

I believe if he doesn’t make the team the Broncos are only out the signing bonus.

Wow, Is this the fattest deal a 7 round draft can land? So happy for Vincent!
