LSU tight end Kole Taylor announced Thursday that he is entering the transfer portal.

Taylor, a junior from Grand Junction, Colo., signed with the Tigers in the 2020 class. He appeared in 32 games with seven starts over the last three years. He had 17 receptions for 159 yards and one touchdown during his time at LSU.

His departure leaves the Tigers with one scholarship tight end on the roster in true freshman Mason Taylor.

Four-star tight end Mac Markway is committed to LSU's current 2023 recruiting class and three-star tight end Jackson McGohan is visiting Baton Rouge this weekend, after de-committing from Cincinnati earlier this week.

Updated LSU Transfer Portal Tracker:
TE Kole Taylor
DE Desmond Little
DB Raydarious Jones
WR Jack Bech
CB Damarius McGhee
LB Antoine Sampah*
LB Phillip Webb*
S Jordan Toles*

Note: Toles, Sampah, and Webb left the team in August and were not listed on the roster this fall. Toles transferred to Morgan State in August.

Kole played a lot last year but I hardly saw him at all playing this year with our new coach. I wondered why?

I always wondered when LSU recruited him if playing High School in Co. would make him tough enough to play in the SEC. Kinda knew this day was coming a few years ago.

Best of luck. His parents would probably approve of him playing for Sanders in Boulder.

That would be great to help Deon rebuild Colorado.

A&M has 22 players in the portal, including 2 5*s. We could use a 5* DB.
