LSU (9-4) is headed to the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl, where they will play Purdue (8-5) on Jan. 2nd at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. Kickoff will be at noon CT on ABC.

This will be LSU's third trip to Citrus Bowl since 2016, when the Tigers beat Louisville and Heisman trophy winner Lamar Jackson 29-9. LSU returned to the Citrus Bowl the following year and lost to Brian Kelly and Notre Dame, 21-17.

LSU will also open the 2023 season next year at Camping World Stadium vs. Florida State.

Thoughts on the Tigers Bowl destination?

Purdue did not have a single quality win this year...#21 Illinois was as close as they got. This should be a LSU blowout.

Thats a crappy stadium and opponent. Will be empty except they give away free tickets to the local HS schools to make it look full

Orlando should be a fun trip for the team - good reward

Maybe we could have Danny Etling as a guest team captain for this game, considering he left Purdue to come to LSU.

Maybe we could get Farmer Fran too.

Also considering he started for LSU in both of our last 2 citrus bowl appearances.

They will be tougher than most people will think on this board and if LSU takes them lightly, they will get punched in the mouth like A&M did.

Won't happen. LSU was WORN OUT at the end of this season. The lack of quality depth reared its head after we beat Bama. We left it all on the field. Now the team will get weeks of rest to get ready to compete at a high level again.

Might have been a ratings and tickets coup had Citrus Bowl gotten LSU vs Notre Dame matchup

The fact that we have the chance for a 10 win season is quite a testament to the work BK and his staff have done with this squad. Geaux tigers.

It is simply unbelievable what has been accomplished when you look back. And to think, 11 wins was attainable with a break or two. Simply amazing.

Can you really sugarcoat this? They are not even ranked, bro. UTSA, Tulane, Troy are ranked.

Um yes, they’re a good team who just played for the big 10 championship. Very similar to us.

Based on where this program was with Woodward and Orgeron last August, this bowl game is a great finish to a miraculous season by Kelly and the Tigers. No one envisioned this as a possibility given the clown show program this was when he was hired. Congrats to Coach Kelly and the players.
