LSU’S MYLES BRENNAN SUFFERS LEFT ARM INJURY

BATON ROUGE – LSU quarterback Myles Brennan suffered a left arm injury that will require surgery, head coach Ed Orgeron announced on Monday.

“Myles Brennan suffered a severe injury that will require surgery,” Orgeron said. “His timeline is yet to be determined. Myles has done everything we have asked of him this summer and was in the fight to be the starting quarterback at LSU.”

Brennan, a senior from Long Beach, Mississippi, started LSU’s first three games last year, passing for 1,112 yards and 11 touchdowns before an injury against Missouri sidelined him for the remainder of the season.

Brennan has an SEC heart. That is all you need to be a winner, in the SEC. Give him Joe Burrow’s offensive line and they would be a Championship caliber team. Of course, I think mixing Johnson in, against BAMA, would be critical to running the SEC. As a side note, why could Manziel, Burrow and Prescott walk into BAMA stadium and hand them a butt whipping? They play like Max Johnson. Saban poorest coaching jobs are against QB’s that can run. He fails to make the offense unidimensional against a mobile, accurate QB in an offense that can effectively and efficiently shift gears from pass to run and vice versa.

So if you are a 5'6" QB that runs a 5.5 40 and can't throw it 30 yards but as long as you have an "SEC heart", "that is all you need to be a winner in the SEC"? I love my sport cliches but come on. You need a little more than "heart" to win.

It was inevitable he would be hurt in the SEC. He came to LSU without a SEC body. I am sorry for him. You must have a SEC body to play in SEC at all positions.

Why the secrecy of what happened? My guess is he must have been doing something idiotic.

I feel bad for the kid. Kid was waiting patiently and working hard to be the man at QB. Kid has great potential that was never given a real chance to showcase due to injury. Hopefully kid makes a speedy recovery so kid can get out there and be the qb again. I love saying “kid..” a lot because it asserts that I am an old salty dog sports knowledge couch potato in a subtle but condescending kind of a way. Makes me feel like a sports guru sort of. I kid..

"never given a chance to showcase..." Really? Because the job was his to take in the spring of 2018, with only McMillian and Narcisse as his competition. But he couldn't do it, and that's why O had to go out desperately seeking a transfer. (Worked out great for us, though)

The kid is soft and just doesn’t have what it takes to be a big time SEC football player. Sad but you could tell this was how it would go. it’s time to move on with Max

That’s the most idiotic comment I’ve heard yet regarding MB & this injury! The kid tore his abdominal muscles early in the Mizzou game. Rather than packin it in & letting the QB-2 play he sucked it up & played thru the pain - Oh & He played really Well & damn near won the game! SOFT? WTF man, SOFT???

Hate this news. Myles will be back this year. Out 6 weeks. Max no contact jersey. Backup is a Freshman. We will be fine. We have a dominant defense this year. Max adds another dimension with his legs for defenses have to worry about. I think he was the starter anyway. Run game will have to step it up a notch so Max does not take to many hits. Going to be interesting now to say the least. We will know quickky @ UCLA where we are. GEAUX TIGERS

Well, QB is settled, but that really really sucks for Myles. I feel awful for the kid. He’s done nothing but gut it out for the Tigers.

It’d be incredible if he stayed, recovered, and he came through in the clutch some how down the stretch late in the season.
