The NFL Reportedly Made Kentucky Remove This Josh Allen Banner At Draft
Mark Zerof-USA TODAY Sports
To celebrate Kentucky's projected first-round pick, Josh Allen, the Wildcats hung this banner outside the NFL Draft in Nashville...

The NFL reportedly asked them to take it down...and they did. Per KentuckySportsRadio...
quote:

On Monday, UK debuted an enormous Josh Allen banner on the front of the Moxy Downtown hotel on Broadway in Nashville, but this morning, the Moxy had to take it down. The worst part? It came down minutes before Allen walked down Broadway to see it for himself.

Why did the NFL want the banner down? When it was first put up earlier this week, they complained about the NFL logo in the lower right corner, so the Moxy covered it up:

Still, that wasn’t enough. After the NFL contacted UK about the banner, UK had to call Jamie Daniel, a partner in KSBar whose family is opening the Moxy, and tell him to take the banner down.

I am not a UK fan. In fact, I used to HATE UK since I had been raised there but had been an LSU Tiger by blood. But for the NFL to go so far as to make them remove this banner even after the NFL logo was removed from it is bull-shyte! Eff the NFL and their crap! They've just now pissed me off enough to make me actually like Kentucky. So from this LSU Tiger to all y'all in Lexington - "GEAUX BIG BLUE!"

I wonder what they told them to take it down. Just don't know what power the NFL has over a school....once they cobered the logo.

At the point it did not have the NFL logo on it, what jurisdiction is the NFL have? They didn't rent every square foot of the city

The nfl now has authority, with the he P of the spineless, to make a private individual remove a banner from his private building? The NFL remains a bunch of spoiled jackasses.

Great to see them get this under control. Been very nice to see them address the kneeling with the same urgency. Wonder how much that really cost them.

I don't see the problem. The draft in Nashville is for the NFL, not a free place for Kentucky to market themselves. If the draft was in Montgomery and Bama pit up a big banner this place would call for sanctions.

UK can market themselves anywhere they see fit as long as they take the NFL logo off. What an ignorant statement.

It was on a private building. After they covered the copyrighted logo, NFL should have had no grounds to complain. My guess is the NFL struck a deal with the CofC or the downtown BID to limit that type of stuff. Still petty in my opinion.

The NFL can't do shite if they remove the NFL logo. They have no authority over UK and can't punish Allen for something he didn't do.
