“In the past you had to sell a vision,” Vince explained. “Now you’re selling these guys that we’re right there on the cusp. We’re close. All we need is a few big-time guys like we got this weekend to push and go to Atlanta. It’s to get to Atlanta [winning the SEC East]. They see it, they want it, AND WE WILL BE THERE.”

“This Wan’Dale Robinson—he is everything that people have been hearing about,” Vince said. “I’ve been really impressed with our quarterbacks—and Joey Gatewood has really looked good to me. Beau [Allen] has done some good things. Kaiya [Sheron] has done some good things. I really like all the quarterbacks.”

Running back—“loaded”; offensive line—”pretty good”; tight end—”real good”; defensive line—”real good”; secondary—”real good”; receivers—”really looking good.”

Vince singled out Josh Paschal as someone whose talent and leadership skills should take him over the top.

“This kid is an absolute monster,” Vince said about UK’s prized senior defensive end. “What makes him even better is that he’s a better person. This guy’s a monster, but he’s a good person off the field…Don’t mistake that. He will have a huge year this year.”

As the State of the Union address concluded, Vince couldn’t hold back about UK Football finally starting to garner some much-deserved respect.
