No... it’s not a rodent as it’s not within order Rodentia . And it is not of family Suidae, so it isn’t a true pig either. It is of family Tayassuidae, named Peccaries (Some call them “New World Pigs). They are closely related to Old World Pigs since they are both in the same suborder, Suina.

Yes it is. Just a different breed. I raise Kunekune pigs and they are super fast especially at feeding time.

You must be thinking of Havolinas, the Texas Oil Company mascot. Javelinas are a species of rodents only a coonass would eat.
