Per WFTV in Florida...
quote:

A district spokesperson told Channel 9 that Brown was fired as head coach because of past precedent, but couldn’t say what that precedent was.

The video surfaced earlier this month, right before the start of the season.

Brown self-reported it to the principal, but he ended up terminated as head coach.
Brown later took responsibility for his actions...
quote:

“I take full responsibility,” Brown said. “I am not proud of the words that came out of my mouth; words that would make my mother very upset. What can I say? I was excited. I just want everyone to know my words weren’t derogatory; they were celebratory.”

These are HS kids, not 6yos. I know ken brown, he is a very good coach. Seminole is usually a top program. This seems ridiculous. Getting fired for profanity. So much for freedom of speech.

"Getting fired for profanity. So much for freedom of speech.".... this isn't even remotely close to what freedom of speech is.

He was not making fun of diabetes. He pointed out that one of their players performed well in spite of the fact that he had diabetes

How can you watch the video and think he was making fun of his own player with diabetes?

You have to always be cognizant that cameras are watching and recording you in various situations of your day to day life. It's a reality that we all have to adapt to or possibly suffer the consequences of our words or actions.

I didn't see anything wrong. On a side note, why do all local TV station websites have aids?

This happened in June. Seems like this was a way to get rid of somebody they didn't like.

Dropping an occasional 4 letter bomb is one thing. Doing it every 3-4 words is another. This is high school and im under the impression that he’s received several warnings about this and other behaviors.
