Here's Georgia Kirby Smart's Reaction To College Football Playoff Expansion...
© Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports
While on ESPN’s Marty & McGee on Saturday, Georgia head coach Kirby Smart gave his reaction to the potential changes coming to the College Football Playoff. Sounds like the Georgia head coach is in support of the new 12-team postseason...
quote:

“Most changes have been relatively small,” Smart said, via ESPN.com. “With the potential of what’s been proposed … [it’s] probably the greatest change there has been in terms of major college football.”

“I think a lot of this is going to boil down to strength of schedule,” Smart continued. “For a long time now we have been trying to build up our future strength of schedule, because it’s not the losses that are going to kill you; it’s not playing the best teams. We’ve tried to go out and schedule major Power 5s across our scheduling system all the way out with the hopes that this would give us the opportunity to go play some really good teams. And losses won’t kill you when you start talking about top 12. You’ve got to have a powerful schedule and go play good teams.”

It doesn't matter how much expansion you have. Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson and the blue bloods are going to end up in the final four exactly as they do now. All this is going to do is create mismatches and blowouts for and extra couple of weeks.

Just wait until the SEC gets 3 teams in in one year.... SECCG winner and loser plus the sec west 2nd place team

Just checked the final regular season 2019 polls. SEC would have had 4 teams - LSU, UGA, UF, & Bama.

12 is stupid, 8 teams should be the max. How does 12 get down to a final 2? Ridiculous.

1-4 get a bye. 5v12, 6v11,7v10, 8v9. The proposal gives home field advantage to better seed in the first 2 rounds. After that, its bowls games. Or so I'm told.

"BabyTac 45 People that can’t win their own conference should definitely have a chance to say their the best team in the country." Why should they? The ONLY teams allowed should be conf. champs & NO BYES.

I've always been a fan of 6 or 8, but I think 12 is to much. I can tell you I can think of 2 years where if they're were a 12 team playoff we would probably have 2 more Natty's !!!

As an sec fan you have to love it. The only issue i had with shitty teams getting is was that it left good ones out. Now all the “no one wants to play USC” wont mean shite cause USC and Notre Shame are going to get the chance to look like OK has BLOWN OUT

Playoff expansion will earn more money and provide a legitimate champion every year. Something that occurs every year in every sport at every level EXCEPT for Division 1 football.

He's not wrong, but Bama never had issue playing high school teams and living off their conference schedule

Bama has been playing the one non conference p5 every year and then the middle Tennessee's of the world.....just like LSU. Don't act like your non conference is some juggernaut.

good lord. Going back 15 years, Bama has played one very tough OOC game very year. They haven’t run and hid. Bitching about their scheduling is childish.
