landing ramp should be foam rubber/plastic. Like pole vaulting

Looks like he never got higher than the landing area. Whoever designed that ramp let him down.

I assume there is some reason for the steep grade of the landing site, but that also makes for a hard impact if he falls short. I am surprised that they don't taper that off so a short landing doesn't smash him into what amounts to a cliff.

Why the frick would you even try this? Cool, if you succeed you're name is in a book along with 100k others. If you fail, even by 12 inches, you're paralyzed at best and your'e dead at worst. You're son now has to grow up with no father, way to really think it through guy.

I agree. You wanna do stupid crap like this when your young and single fine. But when you have a wife and young kids you have to put them first. Pretty selfish act for a record hardly anyone will ever know about.

As cold-hearted as it seems, it sucks that I have to agree with this. I'm sorry, but I have zero sympathy for people who get injured/killed when they engage in activities that draw publicity only because of the very fact that people can get injured/killed doing them. You can't have your cake and eat it too. However, I am extremely sympathetic to his wife and children. Extremely sad situation for them, especially considering that he was killed because of his own choice and actions.

What's the difference between a daredevil and an idiot?

Pretty easy actually, an idiot doesn't take insane risks for the sake of taking insane risks.

Terrible if he has little kids as suggested in that picture. At some point you got to think about how risks you take impact them for life. Prayers for the family’s peace.
