Nick Saban Does Not Like His Former Assistants Poaching His Staff
Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports
Alabama head coach Nick Saban has created a coaching staff system that allows coaches to learn from the best and move on to lead other football programs. However, Nick is not happy when those former assistants come back to poach his current staff. Per Larry Brown Sports...
quote:

“We’ve always had sort of a mutual respect for how we sort of take each other’s people. It’s one thing that I always try to emphasize to the guys: what I have a tough time with, aight, is we’ve had however many guys who have worked here who are at Georgia, Tennessee — whoever, wherever — is when they get those jobs, and in most cases you’ve helped them, is they have a hard time understanding why they can’t take your people.”

If Nick were my boss, I think I’d jump on the first good offer I got.

I know a few assistants who said they’d “never work for that effing a-hole” ever again. Maybe he needs to look in the mirror.

Kiffin DGAF what Saban thinks. Symbolic shot across the bow. Lane is focused on winning and not on niceties. Bravo!

He’s starting to lose his mind thinking of the 180 his team and LSU are doing. He’s seeing many losses to LSU and it’s driving him nuts.

He’s whining about losing a guy he probably did not even know was on his staff or even existed. You don’t hear Gus griping about Mizzou getting Drinkwitz who was an assistant to an analyst back in Cam’s days. Part of it. Deal with it.

Hey Nick, they do not belong to you. They are coaches who want to do what is in their best interest. Saban is an arse.

Yearly coaching turnover absolutely makes it tougher but it beats the heck out of having a staff that doesn't produce, so nobody wants them.
