They should be kicked out. College football made the decision a long time ago to go professional with the TV contracts. You cant go half in. Vandy has different goals. They should be out

I suspect many like Vandy will not field athletic teams in the not so distant future if things keep going as they are. There has always been some animosity between academics and the AD at just about every school. The amount of money driven by athletics at most schools is miniscule compared to academic endeavors. Given that very few programs are self supporting it is easy to imagine a bunch of schools going back to dance with the one that brung them....academics.

Serious question, and not meant to be in the lease disparaging, but how many people go to Vandy and Georgia Tech because of the AD? Ivy League schools got out of the business many, many years ago and seem to be surviving. They still have athletics but it is not on the same scale as what places like Vandy are trying to balance. As far as football goes I think within 50 years there are maybe 40-50 programs still playing at the highest levels and the rest revert to some sort of pure amateur league similar to what CFB has pretended to be for the last 100 years. Its a massive business for Alabama, for example, but is it as important to NC State?

Cheap owners have been a pro sport problem for time immemorial.

It's not a secret in academic administrative circles that Vandy has major financial issues.

They are scraping every last dime out of athletics (and everywhere else) to keep that ship afloat.

Athletics is about the last thing on their minds. The alumni don't care. Why should their admins?

Word will get out I'm sure if that's the case and they'll be even less effective in the major sports.

Vandy should be kicked out along with Mississippi state. Neither school brings anything to the table.

I don’t hear anyone whining about Vandy when you see them on your schedule. “Oh no, we have to play Vandy. They suck so bad”
