How would you handle the protestors at the the colleges?

If they protest in a designated area and aren't destructive or disruptive, no issues..

Now, destroy public or private property, cause disruptions,they should be arrested and expelled from school.

That pretty well sums it up folks.

One thing I liked about the Fayetteville PD is they (are at least they used too) actively coordinate protests with student groups. Where do you want to protest? How long? Do you want to be arrested?

We had a nice peaceful campus as a result. If you were protesting somewhere you weren't supposed to be or doing something you shouldn't do... well you got to enjoy some quality time in the Washington County Jail.

I think the way Florida is doing it is pretty well spot on.

I enjoyed the Japanese way.

Come to the police station and ask for a permit. Fill out the form. Staff reviews the form and approves thee permit. You pay a fee for the right to protest. They assign a day, place and time to protest. On arrival, you notice that riot police are in position in every street along the way. Police give you the approval to start. Riot police in formations equipment at the ready. With three hours left a verbal warning is issued on the bull horn. Two hour warning, one hour warning. Thirty minutes, twenty, ten. At zero there are no warnings .......your time is up. Let the beatings begin. These police are trained in the use of sticks and shields. The one we watched .....the crowd is driven down the street. as they passed side roads riot police formations cut them off. Man they work those batons ......Those that fell ....a truck drove behind the line and threw them in the back of the truck. I started laughing ......at the end of that main street was a .hospital. They beat that crowd to the steps. The staff came out and dragged them in. The trucks unloaded and the riot police finally stopped.
Riot Police loaded into their trucks and thy left ......See ya again next week! Most of the protests were for silly crap. Close the ase because your Planes take off over my house. "Shouldn't have built your house there."
