You'll probably make it happen before we (Kentucky) do. They passed medical here but it won't start until 2025 and it's the most limited bill in the country. And they've talked about trying to walk some of it back already in future legislative sessions. Meanwhile, people go to Ohio, Illinois, Virginia, Missouri, and even to Michigan to buy without issue.

And for a bunch of politicians that want to desperately popular, it's amazing to me they don't understand that legalization is desired universally across the political spectrum.

Money wins elections. They get the Sheriffs/police and the pharma and alcohol lobbies behind them and they'll be able to buy their re-elections.

ETA:

Dems are pushing the Schedule change nationally as a hail mary. If they were polling better going into election season, they wouldn't touch it. In Louisiana it's going to take a termed out Governor with a majority party support to legalize.
