We have an interesting qb coming in from the portal, Taylen Green, who has a good arm and has the speed kj lacked. It’ll be interesting to see what Petrino does with him and how he adapts to the system. He has great potential but we’ll see how that plays out.

Switching to 10rc mode: He’ll be on the heisman watch list quickly and be the greatest dang qb this conference has ever seen. Natty bound….haha..

Dart
Ewers
Milroe
Nuss

Honorable mention is Weigman but I think he catches the injury bug once again

I came here to make this point. That game against LSU almost had him in the Heisman discussion. His offense put up 42 against them and here’s an LSU fan saying he’s garbage. Beat their Heisman winning quarterback by 14, yet he’s garbage. Ok LSU fan

Dude, EVERY QB looked like a Heisman winner against LSU's defense last year. If you think Milroe was "awesome" against them, Daniels would have had 1,000 all-purpose yds against LSU's D.

there’s no way Milroe is their best option. Milroe is garbage.
This guy gets it! Milroe only gets the start if the coach is pressed into it by outside forces. Simpson should be the starter this fall. Milroe is garbage and that LANK shiit he started is weak as hell.

He was losing by 2 touchdowns. He gonna magically get 2 stops on defense too?

Nothing wrong with that

I stand corrected...dude completed 100% of his passes last year (half of which were TDs) against an opponent who finished the season 10-3. I can see why USCe was so excited about beating out Appy State for him.

Agreed. Kind of like Milton.

Ewers is FAR too high. Weigman will end up with superior stats and be considered a higher talent than Ewers after this coming season of play. Of course this is a heavy Aggie lean. Ewers has not lived up to his original rating potential out of HS and has been mediocre, not sure why the media love. Good solid QB when surrounding with the right players and you can be very successful with him but he definitely isnt a heisman qb. Arch probably ends up taking over and the QB drama starts.

Beck is #1 but really more than anything because he plays for a stacked GA team. Dont think he is the most physically gifted that is for sure.

Milroe? I was in a fun debate last night with my Bama die hard friend who said he was the Heisman front runner. I chuckled at that. I do think Milroe is a Top 5 QB but more like #4 or #5.

I think Weigman is closer to #2 or #3 and end of season will speak for that. He needs to remain healthy which is the big unknown during the Jimbo years of little offensive blocking. But has all the tools to be a legit heisman candidate.

Really a toss up this year. I think this year in the SEC is going to have several 2 or 3 loss teams all battling for the SEC title. Only one dominate team in GA and not completely sold there. And Texas, not knowing what is coming, will take some early, unexpected losses. They have a lot of talent but coming from the Big 12 is much harder than they think. Sark is still learning as a HC, especially now as a SEC HC. The most overranked of all SEC schools with TN a very, very close second.

Texas A&M's 3rd string QB abused us last year. What's your point?

I don't get into the top 5 debate on Beck because he has things to work on.

But it feels like his physical abilities get overlooked.
He has the NFL arm.
He has the NFL frame.
He has the NFL athleticism.

He is a streaky QB. He has a few throws that he needs to improve efficiency. He needs more efficient red zone production. But he is 21. He isn't the 23+ year old QB in terms of reps. 2024 is his money year. We will find out on Saturdays if he can improve his areas of weakness from 2023.

Arnold has already done something that no Tennessee QB (starter or backup) has done since Quinten Dormady in September 2017. That was the last time a Tennessee QB threw 3 ints in a game. If he throws 6tds...he's likely also thrown 7 ints.

Agree, that was an example of the sum being better than some individual parts. But Milroe supporters will go to any lengths to justify the team winning in spite of his lack of talent.

Mertz belongs on this list, in 2023 with a porous O line and ETN unsuccessfully attempting to pass block on every blitz, he still completed 73% of his passes with 20 TDs and only 3 Ints. He will be better this year.

Oh I’d love to play this game with some of Tennessee's best players the last few years

Do you have time?

I think Milroe is going to surprise a bunch of people this year. Also, I think you are wrong about Ewers. This will be his third year in the same system and he vastly improved from year one to year two. Any talented QB that has the same coordinators and playbook going into year 3 will be much more comfortable in the pocket and can just play without having to think so much.
