I was just thinking of all the players not in these playoffs like curry and Giannis and for whatever reason victor came to mind, The spurs have been awful for quite awhile and POP was the best or at least considered top 2 coach at one time. its like he has had 2 different careers. Goat level success and performance worthy of a firing a few years back.

I think they expected to just transition to their next superstar with Leonard but he forced his way out.
Kinda a wild Diva move for a guy with 0 personality. He was a perfect Heir apparent to Duncan.
But They’ll bounce back eventually Wemby is freakish

Liberalism destroyed his brain.

I guess the 20 straight years of competitive basketball with 5 titles wasn’t enough? No room for down time, even if it nets you another generational player.

Obviously Kawhi forced his way out then they were in that sorta weird DeRozan and Aldridge era. Traded Murray and tanked. Now they have Wemby and some young assets and are another couple pieces away. He won’t coach more than another 2-3 years though i feel.

Pop is the Bill Belichick of basketball

everyone looks like a great coach when you have Tim Duncan, Manu, and Tony Parker in their prime along with kawhi later on. What you're seeing now is pop is a normal guy, nothing special

He has liberal brain root. It was bound to happen.

Look at his roster he's had the last few years. They are in a comlete rebuild right now. They haven't been trying to win games since DeRozan left.
Phil Jackson could have been in the same boat in Chicago, but he retired when Jordan retired.

Just wait until Trump gets back in office.

There's no such thing in the NBA, NFL, MLB, or NHL.

Trump derangement syndrome

Politics aside - tons of coaches now are getting starting lineups full of all-stars and absolutely failing time and time again. The one thing Pop and Phil did right is they forced those players to achieve their potential, rather than tear each other apart for stats and personalities and money
The NBA coaching game isn’t about Xs and Os. It’s about leading men and motivating them to work as a team and fulfill their potential. And nobody has been better than Phil and Pop. Kerr may soon be in the same category as well.

He's just one of millions of moronic Liberal Americans in this country. That's all.

He used to preach defense. It was one of his main stables during the glory years. They look a lot more like a track team and have since Duncan said so long.

Of course Popovich was great at one time. But he sucks nowadays and I don't know why people refuse to admit it.
We've already seen this with Belichick, Paterno and Bowden. And actually Pop is doing worse than any of those 3 guys. The other guys had middle of the pack teams at the end of their careers, but Popovich's teams have now fallen to literally last place in the Western Conference.
He can't coach anymore and he needs to retire.
As for the politics: that has little to do with his coaching, but he'd seem less foolish expressing his political views if his teams were going better than 22-60.

He cries when his former players gets booed but degrades reporters for doing their job. The biggest POS Coach in the league

Every coach that has won multiple rings had great players around them. Never recalled Phil Jackson beating down the door in New York to coach the Knicks, which was his "dream job." Pop and he get too much credit.
