This constant celebrating over one win over Alabama and losing in the semi final is a little over the top. will the horns ever be upset they dont win championships or disappointed about anything or just be pleased with being in the sec and be Aggie like after a couple years

Actually aggie with their 8 win average is a heck of a lot better than I ever expected. No reason to think texas can’t do something similar.

It'll be a while, it seems like they're about to make one of those Clemson, Georgia runs winning the odd years Saban didn't. Too much money, recruiting is lights out, development is as well. We'll have pressure but there's gonna be a lot of winning over here in Texas.

Yes - this year.

Veteran QB and O-line from a productive team means it is reasonable to be in the mix for a title in 2024.

Take all the shots you want at us, but don't treat us like we're aggie.

Yes. It is totally absurd that a fanbase celebrate the program’s best year in over a decade after the worst stretch in program history

Dude, they will be as good as Sark makes them. So far, so good. It's a different test for the shorthorns, but the test just got harder for everyone in the SEC also.

Frankly, it's a great time for a 12-team playoff, cause the SEC is gonna need the spots.

I say Texas fans have no clue about what is going to happen across many of their programs compared to Big 12 play (which isn't something to be very proud of specific to football in last 20 years).

But also SEC fans have no clue what is coming for that righteous, overly confident, weak fan base.

Key is, kicking their arses a few times and their fan base folds and stops showing up. Really sad if you ask me. Bunch of fair weather fans all over the place. I have been to half empty football stadiums and lately a baseball stadium where fans barely cheer and take off by the 6th inning...past 3 years in a row.

So only gonna take a few SEC football games and the Texas trolls will be nonexistent. Ever see much for baseball posts from them lately? Point proven.

Horns down is a thang in the SEC!!! Cannot wait.

Sark is unproven with only one good year but still lacks winning top matchups. Whole reason they believe they are world beaters and keep pointing to the Bama game. You guys wont live that down until next football season. A highly, highly overranked team, just like prior Aggie teams under Jimbo. Sark and Jimbo are gonna be hanging out eventually soon enough. Although I personally like Sark a hell of a lot more and wouldnt mind good things for him and his family. Dude is solid and has really worked to turn around his life. Credit given to Sark. No credit given to t.u. football fans....

I suspect the problem at UT and ATM is based on donor expectations as it is. Not necessarily winning expectations BUT expectation of program access and input. Both schools have a HEAP of new money wealthy alumni...and new money folks, at least a lot of them, are convinced that they are special because they have new money. It is said that any fool can become a millionaire (it'd be a billionaire today) in Texas while it takes a damned genius to make a living in New Mexico (probably said about other border states as well). Those donors are most likely a severe pain in the arse for coaches and ADs - they are at every other school, its easy to imagine there is just more of them at UT and ATM due to the nature of Texans in general. It takes a SPECIAL coach to keep those donors at bay....tact is required and at times even a firm hand. It is doubtful that Sark is that person...his past issues indicate a lack of character which, I think, will prove fatal at Texas. I could be wrong. What is not doubtful is Texas and ATM both have been pretty much mediocre or worse most of their existence while being in a football hotbed...something is amiss. NIL will make those donors, and all schools have them, infinitely worse because coaches no longer can use the "we have to be careful" ploy...everything is acceptable now. The coaches and ADs who manage those donors and their expectations in the NIL era are going to be successful, those who do not possess the character to navigate those issues will not....again, in my opinion.

With the NFL draft, MLB & Byron Nelson this week, nobody in Texas was thinking about that game until you brought it up.

We won't be "Aggie-like".

Expectations and pressures the same. You have to go through the SEC if you want to win a national championship in football or baseball. That hasn't changed.

If Utx doesn't do REALLY well the first two seasons, they never will. Utx was gifted one of the easiest sec schedules that I can ever remember seeing. They have that schedule for both 24 and 25. If they can't get it done those seasons then they will be in for some real rough times when they actually have to play a real sec schedule.
