In 1994, undefeated Bama lost to Florida 24-23 in the SEC Championship. Might not have had a chance to play for it all though because Nebraska and Penn State were both undefeated as well. Could have ended up with 3 undefeated teams that year

What happened? The SEC refs get stuck in traffic or all come down with a stomach virus?
