I will say though, while I don’t doubt this is a thing to some degree, I’ve never really seen it to the scale you’re implying. I traveled once or twice a month for about three years (ten years ago) and maybe it’s because I wasn’t looking for it, but I just didn’t see it.

Maybe you have to have an eye for it like the waitstaff you mentioned….or maybe it’s because I operated exactly like the women you described in your first paragraph (pretty much the only thing I wanted to do was workout and call the wife and kids) so I have no idea what I’m talking about. ?

You and me are on the same page. I hit the gym, would get a sixer of something local, then hang out in the room and call home. But once I saw the tells, I couldn't *unsee* them. Stuff that I was otherwise oblivious to, then it all comes into focus, as it were.

I've never strayed, or had any desire to do so. But is there ample opportunity? Yeah, there is. Hit up any downtown hotel bar or Embassy Suites during happy hour. If you want it, you can get it. And most of those women are married.
