Really?

Immigration.
Russia.
Nationalism.
Deficit spending.
Guns.
Religious ties.
Refusal to compromise.

Are you really going to pretend the likes of MTG, Boebert, Gaetz, Biggs, etc. would have been accepted by the GOP mainstream even 20 years ago? Hell no, they wouldn't...especially before numbnuts Gingrich came long.

The Freedom Caucus is essentially a reincarnate of the John Birch Society of the mid-20th century. The right wing of those days did everything they could to keep the Birch Society at arm's length and disassociated themselves as much as possible from their members.

I get your histrionics over the most vocal conservatives, but they're not stating anything the previous more populist right movements haven't. It's the same thing. They seem more vocal and thus deranged to you because they are scared to death of the shift to Marxism you people are pushing.

You either start to grasp the danger there or you're going to find out. You've gone too far now. The pendulum is not your friend now.

Since when has the Conservative Party ever been pro illegal immigration? Because that’s the issue. Republicans have never said they’re against legal immigrants, they’re against open borders. I don’t think the conservative stance on guns has changed either. And I’m pretty sure you’ll never find a bigger nationalist than teddy roosevelt who was a republican. So while they may have shifted in some issues, they haven’t shifted near as much as the left has and definitely not on the topics you brought up. 100 years ago both parties were very religious, and if you really believe the main stream right is for a theocracy you’re a loon. You have a point about unwilling to compromise but that goes both ways and has been that way since at least the 90s.
