Duke won 5 ncs since early 90s. They have shoe connects and facilities plus they recruit nationally. Jon FUKKING Scheyer is pulling top classes.

From the old guy in the room ...

Kentucky is all by itself
Indiana is up there but killed by ESPN to pimp UConn and the ACC
Kansas is in the Top 4
North Carolina is in the Top 4 but it was NC STATE that was Tobacco Road

UConn (men and women) without ESPN founding in CT would not exist
Dook (men and women) would not exist without ESPN

With UK in the SEC and UL in the ACC, that may take the place UK vs IU held before ESPN. If IU ever gets it together again (and the B1G quits pumping BuckNuts and MeatChicken CFB) the Hoosiers still can sell tickets. Not sure any B1G basketball school can do that over time (MSU with Izzo is still just a 1 coach story).

Big East was the value in college sports media before the CFA monitized the NCAA monopoly (and broke the NCAA) for college football to pass college basketball. So UConn is probably here to stay.

The most telling "brand" value is cost of tickets from street scalpers (sans Ticketmaster and Stub Hub types) and this is where Dook and UCLA fail the smell test.
