So was Beard/Tang really in play at all? Just curious cus I’ve seen reports now after people claimed Beard was big with Fletcher and now Fletcher is debunking that. Coach Cal as a plan B seems just off you know lol? Put no credence into the jans/Walker that reeked of smoke. I’m sure Wade was interested in the job and is pissed he has to spend another year at Mcneese.

They were saying on the pregame coverage last night that Calipari was contacted to vet other coaches initially and then it turned in to a what about you conversation. I’ve seen it said that happened after Beard turned us down but no clue if that’s true or a guess.

The list I was told is what I posted here (4guys)…but I’m kind of with you guys in that I don’t think the Beard stuff really adds up and now the list really doesn’t add up.
I say that because during the last week’ish or so of the SMU stuff, Cal did have someone reach out to a booster there regarding their opening. It didn’t get very far on Cal’s end. I think I may have vaguely posted that (I didn’t post his name, just posted another SEC coach).
So there’s a part of me that now starts to kind of out two and two together and wonders if it just wasn’t Cal all along. In my mind, he reaches out to Tyson/HY when the Muss to USC stuff starts coming to light. Everything is slow played and they let players portal selection commence so Cal just doesn’t come in and run everyone off. Now this week is being slow played in order to utilize the dead period to our programs advantage. Cal comes in, dead period ends, no UK coach to stop transfers or LOI releases…and there’s the new roster.
Maybe I’m thinking too much into it, but I kind of think that may be how this has gone down/been planned.
