We had a top 25 opponent, and also a rival, with the chance to host and be a national seed yet the stands were half empty all 3 games. When the fans leave you and the money power brokers have had enough Kingston will be let go. We have reached that point.

Fans not showing up is not why we lost. I want to preface that before I dive into this one.

I think it is still frustrating to see the fanbase quit on this team prior to this weekend. All the above that you stated should merit fans in the stands. Messina, Petry, Jones, etc all deserved that. If fans wanted Kingston gone, I completely understand, but when a team is coming off a supers, and then was in line to potentially be a national seed with 2/3, our fans shouldn't be not showing up. Obviously they have quit on the team, so I agree you have to look to a new coach, but we shouldn't have quit prior to the series

First off your comment was not necessary as the context of my comment had no basis of claiming it led to our loss. The comments were in direct correlation with why coaches lose their job. So you're starting off by being disingenuous so it now appears that you are being argumentive because you want to be right.

Fans spend their hard earned money and spend part of their free time when they go to games. When that product no longer carries a positive value for your sacrifice then you choose to do something else.

And you missed the point totally. Yes, the things I pointed out should have merited fans in the stands but the point was the confidence level, and the past failures of Kingston, have kept fans from coming out. Had the confidence in the team and coaching staff been there I can assure you it would have been sold out.

Look I appreciate your compassion for our Gamecocks but you are in the minority on this issue. I took love my Gamecocks BBUT I want better for them and know when it's time for a change not holding out " hope that we go on a run".

I know what Carolina baseball used to be. I've been going to games since Bobby Richardson was coach. I remember when the train would stop in the outfield to watch us play because we were an elite team. I'm not willing to hope and pray when my personal experience tells me it's a waste of time.

You can cheer for the team while still wanting a coaching change and pointing out our short comings and choosing some other values for our time and money is not putting down the players

I even started a thread, preseason, on how far the talent could take us but our coaching staff, who still can't figure out what pitchers should do what, is not doing the job and after 7 years you know it's not going to change.
