will very much so argue that the SEC is far more competitive the last couple years over anytime. Teams like UGA, Bama, Auburn, Mizzou, UK, UT used to be easy series wins. Now those teams are really good. I remember mid 2000's into the 10's, the series that scared you were vandy, UF, and maybe a team like OM/Arkansas/LSU.

When you're a top 10 team, like we were used to, of course the SEC seemed like there weren't as many competitive teams but when you're barely a top 30 team there are of course more competitive teams.

We play # 2, #3, and #4 in like 3 of our next 4 weeks. How many do we need to win from those 9 games to make Gamecock nation happy? Honest question because what I am saying is that this year is tracking to be by far the toughest year in SEC history. I think we really are about a #15 team. Clemson is #6 and UNC is #11 so those OOC are tough. we went 1-2 in those games losing the 2 games by a combined 2 runs.

And for the record I get that the end of year rankings will drop a team or two because teams get upset in regionals or supers, or SEC teams play each other. It's just the top level teams this year are solid , and then having 4 teams in the back half of the top 25 is tough.
