Realistically? He needs to go 9-3 and not get blown out. Otherwise, we continue to cede ground to the ****s from Austin. Continue to lose recruits to the likes of LSU, Bama, UGA, AU, etc ... Become undeniably middle of the pack in a loaded SEC. Plus, next year will be the most talented roster Elko has for the next couple of years.

Everyone loses recruits to everyone in this conference.

We've already been undeniably middle of the pack. While I get that the East tends to be easier we haven't even been to the SEC title game like Mizzou (twice).

That's a silly declarative statement considering we don't know who all he'll pull from the portal or how well he can recruit w/a full staff and season behind him.

Was Elko not a good recruiter while he was here? I just don’t see how we’ll drop massively in recruiting. Top 5 would be pretty rare but if Elko can manage 9-10 wins next season (tall task around here I know) I just don’t see us landing outside the top 10-12

Also the way the portal works now and his early willingness to use it you can reload a roster in one off season to make up for that level of recruiting. I’m not saying it’s going to be all sunshine and rainbows but this idea that it’s all doom and gloom is unfounded currently. New HC, new staff, new era. I’m in the wait and see camp
