I'm sorry I hurt your feelings. Austin seems like a fine place.

Austin is amazing if you avoid certain types of people.

But I tend to agree that the hills and lakes are best places to visit on the weekends. Downtown is meh.

Downtown Austin is not in hill country. The western part of Travis County is certainly the beginning of hill country. It gets arid quick out there.

Austin is absolutely in the hill country by all accounts.

Regardless, it’s much prettier than anything college station has to offer.

Interesting that UT never tore down the tower after it was the vantage of one of the worst mass shootings in history.

It’s not even in the top 10. The NRA made sure of that.

Beautiful place but the buck on the far left must be a hybrid. It has some giraffe in its DNA someplace.

I second this. I do not intend to visit Austin again, but my whole family has stated that they would like to return to SA one day.

Not at all, I was born & raised in San Antonio. San Antonio just has a lot of the same problems as Austin without a lot of the highlights.

I’ll admit it… I enjoy myself in Texas. I was stationed at Ft. Hood 1993-95 and have glorious memories of Austin and San Antonio…mainly Austin. I imagine it’s not as good now as it was back then tho. Go Hogs!

I always get a belly laugh whenever I see someone from Louisiana, Mississippi, or Alabama making fun of Austin.
