I mean by numbers alone we should end with #1 class no? We have to fill literally every spot. Once we hit like 10+ players we'll take over top spot just on the numbers.

I have no idea who we start to fill out bench roles with though. Tougher transfer sell with less PT once we get a couple more.

I don’t think anyone is touching Duke but should pass Bama

The way the scoring works, adding guys below your team average, especially after the first several commits, helps your score very little.

Playing around the the class calculator, if we added Johnell Davis and Brandon Garrison, that brings us from 68.63 to 69.27 (247 rankings only)

Then adding DJ Wagner and Jordan Burks still has us at 69.27.

So a .64 increase with a basically perfect close for us.

So, Duke is just untouchable. Bama would be close... Don't know if they're done or not

They’re going to have to go back to the drawing board for rating available players in order to stay relevant in this era. It would take a very rare high school player to be a bigger immediate impact player than a guy like Aidoo or Davis but when you go the the class calculator, those types of transfers are lower rated than all high end 4 stars and all 5 stars. That’s just not reality.

Kentucky apparently gave $800k for Garrison
quote:

Garrison averaged 7.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.5 blocks, and 0.8 steals in 22.6 minutes per game, starting 29 of 32 contests.

While he was generously listed at 6-foot-11, after measuring in at closer to 6-foot-8 in high school,

What an overpay. He would've been nice depth but not someone to build a team around

Me thinks they overpaid to finally say they got one over Arkansas, Texas, & OU.

Also Johnell Davis apparently has been confirmed as having been on campus this past weekend. Aidoo committed yesterday, Johnell commits today imo

We're gonna be so effing stacked

As mentioned above, not sure who we fill out the roster with after these pieces, these look to be the main rotation guys all ready. I'd personally like to seeing another young PG and another burly big who only cares about boards and defense, and then a couple 3 point bombers.

I feel like KK Robinson could possibly be a good fit. I still wish we'd try and keep Blocker as well but that ship has probably sailed

This is from a few days ago before Aidoo visiting and signing.

quote:

Cassidy: It’s difficult to look away from John Calipari at Arkansas due to the fact that the situation still seems a bit surreal, but also because the former Kentucky coach is expected to land an impressive first class despite having a short time to do so. Tennessee transfer Jonas Aidoo will be visiting Fayetteville over the weekend for what feels like a hyper-important trip. Aidoo took a massive step forward as a junior at Tennessee last season and projects as one of the top veterans in the sport next season. The thought of Calipari armed with a veteran big man surrounded by younger, high-profile guards allows Arkansas fans to dream about a massive season in year one of the new regime. Baylor, Alabama and North Carolina are also involved.
