AT cause more shite can go wrong/more opportunity for injury but you can hike into fitness. I think the tour would require a much higher baseline fitness to complete in the 3 week time frame and take years to get to that baseline assuming you are starting from nothing. Angliru (tour of Spain) is probably the hardest climb in procycling. 13 KM at 10% avg with pitches above 20%. I think you could also argue Zoncolan or the Stelvio for the tour of Italy. Thing to remember about the alps most of those climbs are very draft able and pretty steady grade between 4-7%.

Huge crash today involving Jonas, Primoz, and Remco. Jonas was injured badly and looks like he could miss TDF. Remco looks like he broke his collarbone at a minimum and Primoz appears to be okay, just bruised and battered. Tadej now in the drivers seat for the Tour....

When a ship leaves port there is a requirement to start stand-by generators for the duration of the voyage out.
