I’ve always been on the volcanoes along the Rio. Water access is a big issue for you and elk. Very little other than the River. I’ve got a few spots I can show you. I've hunted unit 50 many times. I tend to stick to the same areas. I've done it solo too. Feel free to ask any specific questions you may have.
Unit 50 is kind of a different animal than most parts of the state. It's a desert with a few big arse volcanic intrusions....

I bought 48 acres to hunt on in Texas 6 years ago. It's surrounded by wooded area, similar to yours. We've had a blast on it over the years and had awesome hunts. We have a bow stand, rifle stand, and duck blind on it. ...

Looking to hire a contractor to dig a pond about 3/4 - 1 acre. Probably about 10' at the deepest part. Any ballpark guesses about the cost? It will be in Central Texas....
