last night should absolutely put a scare into the Pelicans front office.
Doubtful. They'll cash their luxury tax payout and use the season ending to justify having done nothing at the trade deadline again. Then, they'll repeat their commitment to paying the luxury tax in the future...
Stop excusing Zion for coming into the season out of shape
I'm not excusing him. I'm saying that when he was averaging 20, 6, and 4 out of shape, he was a better option than JRE. And, I'm saying arbitrarily pulling him at the 6 minute mark regardless of how he was playing was ab...

Absolute bullshite, especially from December forward. Even when he was fat, he was still the best option and infinitely better than JRE...
That and us sitting out Zion against the Spurs for a hang nail are the two biggest detriments to this season.
Those were the 2 biggest detriments to this season from this week.
Pulling Zion with 6 minutes in every 4th quarter through February cost us at least 6-7 games minimum. H...

I'm so confused. So was it the mediocre season or possibly driving your coach to madness that makes trading all of our assets for him so appealing? What did he do that was so impressive and why would that save us?
Initially I was making a joke, but i firmly believe that Willie Gr...
They bring in Quinn Snyder specifically to tame and develop Trae
The next time Willie signals elbow for the 8th play in a row while Zion is getting his head taken off without a whistle and Herb is sent to the bench for breathing on a player, I want a point guard like Trae Young to ...
What do you mean?
McMillan went crazy and would have quit if he weren't fired. With Gayle as owner, someone like Trae Young maybe the only hope to save us from Pastor Willie....
I cannot stress enough how bad I would hate having Trae Young on this team
There are 2 sides to this. If he can do for New Orleans with Willie what he did for Atlanta with McMillan, he is worth every asset we give and every penny of his salary....
He's a pure point guard and a good defender, 2 things neither Trae nor CJ are.
Trae Young may be a poor defender, but he is one of the best passers in the NBA. Outside of Luka and Jokic, nobody sets up teammates for more easy baskets than Trae. ...
re: He’s gotta develop a midRange
Posted by mhasen1 on 4/17/24 at 8:26 am
He needs a freaking point guard who will pass the freaking ball for easy baskets. Jose did a great job hitting him 3 times last night for easy dunks, but he is open 7 or 8 times a game from that post spin move or back cuts. Unfortunately, we have 3 starters that seem to think they get paid per drib...

Zion is the only one who showed up today.
CJ and Nance have to pull their heads out of their asses and make simple plays....

Zion is the best player in the game, and it's not even close.
Just need someone else to play well ...
re: IF the Lakers sit AD...should we "call their bluff"...and sit Zion, BI and CJ?
Posted by mhasen1 on 4/15/24 at 2:29 pm
The Lakers were 0-4 against Sacramento and 1-3 against Golden State this year.
Anthony Davis is 0-10 all time against Sabonis.
But yeah, they'll purposefully put their whole season on the line for 1 game against one of them....
re: We played best games the past week...Did the media ask Willie why we changed the lineup?
I don't think that's fair to Willie though, considering every coach would've started BI today,
Steve Kerr had 2 time MVP Steph Curry come off the bench for a whole freaking playoff series after he missed 12 games....
re: Tough Question for this team
Posted by mhasen1 on 4/13/24 at 9:56 am
Post all star break, BI was playing extremely well and seemed to have finally changed his game for the best. Hopefully that continues when he returns. Zion at the 5 works so much better with him and/or Dyson in the game.
I love Naji. But BI, Herb, Dyson, and Trey should get every available wing ...
Gafford is what made Dallas take that big step. He brought it all together.
PJ Washington is also a big part of it. They went from the front line being a huge vulnerability to being a big plus without giving up almost anything of value....
