Having that family is the greatest thing though.

I live only about an hour away so getting to games isn't hard. I'm hoping I can put back enough to get season tickets starting next year.

I've got 2 boys. The newborn and a 5 year old. So it'd be a good time to start.

Well, we ruined it...but it was fricking ugly. Right now, wins are wins though. The defense is great. The offense is...timely. I was miserable during the game.

Also, I now wonder if other Vandy fans I talk to at games are any of you guys.

Lots of fans disguised as empty seats at that game; but, a Win is a Win!

Couldn't have been me this time as I had gotten sick and ended up not going. We old farts don't mix well with rainy outdoor events in the cold & flu season.

This guy wasn't that old. Probably late 40s, but he seemed a little oblivious. He actually yelled "Don't run the ba..." as Ralph took off for the go ahead score. He only got halfway through "ball" for obvious reasons.

It was an ugly game, but for the first time I think I actually saw the "Deep Water" identity of this team.

Hopefully the offense improves, but dragging teams down into ugly, slow games and making them fight for it. When scoring picks up, a lot of teams we face won't have the confidence to pull out the win.

Sitting there at that game was awful, but in hindsight, the more I think about it the better I feel about the team dragging down MTSU and the offense scoring when they had to.

Exactly. This is a great recipe to win games. If the other team cannot score more than 3 or 4 times, you're going to be in most games at the end. Honestly, the offense is moving the ball. We have averaged 412.8 yards per game (361 in SEC play). Our problem is that we are not scoring points. We have turnovers or just make critical errors that cause drives to stall out. It's a lot easier to fix an offense that can move the ball but not score than an offense that cannot even move the ball though. Hopefully, we'll get some stuff together over the bye week and come out better for the second half ot he season. We got 2 wins in 5 games to start the season. If we need to get 4 wins in 7 to end the season, I think we'll have surpassed any and all expectations.

Yep. Turnovers, missed FGs, stalled drives. Just getting in and around the red zone shuts them down. It's really amazing that the offense is at the top quarter of the country in YPG. The overall improvement in this team is impressive. I'm hoping the bye week gives them time to improve in the red zone.
