I am old school, and if this happens, it needs to go where it is now. I love having all 3 sports right next door to each other right on campus. Aside from this I like old school venues with no corporate suites, but I know I am in the minority of big dollar splashy amenities.

Chairbacks all around: most seats, could be problematic for the band.

Real Grass for good.

I agree and I'm particularly intrigued by the discussion around making it a collaboration with a pro soccer club...

Would be cool if Vandy got to use it for M and W soccer if that happens

I say to hell with the glassed in boxes but all seats in the stadium = comfy chair backs works with me. As it seems most season ticket holders and ticket purchasers are faculty and staff, need to gear to the masses.

Will not happen. The soccer leagues have rules in place that new stadiums must be soccer-specific stadiums which would make for worse sight lines for American football.

So...this has been my thought since I heard about any stadium project. Why not move the stadium to where the surfact lots across from the football practice facility are? Turn the current stadium into a parking lot and use the current field as the rec turf field since we would have to tear up the current rec turf field.

Do you go to the baseball and basketball games?

I don't know why but I get nostalgic walking between them when I attend games or have to visit NCC.

I do. It's a great layout of the 3 together. That doesn't mean it's the best layout for all involved, especially football. We need more space

Cabanas in the End Zone would be nice.

If you kept it were it is, can you do a TAMU and demolish and rebuild in phases?

Perhaps? Is there money to do this?

Maybe schedule an early game, or two at the Titans Stadium?

But, I don't see anything wrong with the current stadium, that couldn't be upgraded.

If it is like a house, it is cheaper to built new sometimes than upgrade the old.

The entire structure is concrete. The main issues cannot that need to be upgraded would require lots of very careful demolition to reshape the concrete. Even with expert demolition work, it could all go horribly wrong. The cost (and risk) are likely much lower to just rebuild. They really need to change the footprint of the entire stadium to make the concourses more spacious. That's the one that would require the most construction.

Not being in construction, or a Vanderbilt Engineer as my dad was, I'll take your word on the cost & risk.

I am neither of those either, but I do know that concrete does not come apart easily.
