Would you be happy with these early-season Eason stats?

First of all, I realize the standard response is "I don't care about the stats, as long as we win!" which is fine. For the sake of this hypothetical disregard the record though and just look at stats.

App State:
18/24, 235 yards, 2 TD/0 Int

@Notre Dame:
19/35, 225 yards, 2 TD/2 Int

Samford:
14/20, 175 yards, 2 TD/0 Int

Mississippi State:
19/44, 145 yards, 0 TD/1 Int

What would you think? Would you be clamoring for Fromm at this point, be perfectly content, or stick with him while realizing there's still progress to be made?

FTR, those are Stafford's stats early in his true sophomore season against OSU at home (W), at Alabama (W), Western Carolina at home (W), South Carolina at home (L). I went out of order since it didn't totally jive...We have an easier home opener this year compared to OSU, the first-year-with-saban 5 loss bama team seemed to be a fair road comparison with notre dame, both have a true cupcake, and I put stafford's home SC game with Eason's home MSU game. Not an exact match but you get the point.

I see SO many people say that eason will never be as good as stafford, while those same people only seem to remember stafford going #1 overall and not actually look at what he did on teh field. Their true freshmen seasons aren't really remotely comparable, as Eason blew stafford's stats out of the water. The progression from season 1 to 2 should see major improvement, and Stafford did show improvement (although it should be noted he never once threw for over 240 yards in 07), but still was pretty pedestrian early in 07. In 06 it seemed like everyone knew stafford had unlimited potential, we just needed to be patient while he realized it. I think we should give eason that same luxury.

Everyone's favorite player on the team is always the back up QB. Those numbers would be very worrisome for me, but damaging Eason's mentality by pulling him if we're not sure Fromm is great seems like a poor decision.

If we are 4-0....sure

The first 2 game would be fine with me. The last 2 would be worrisome in a big way, but like they say...winning cures a lot of things.

If we are 2-2 after these 4 games, changes might be on the horizon (Loss to ND and MSU).

I'd also be more upset with Cheney than anything else if we threw the ball 40 times against Miss St.

We better not throw it 35 times for 225 and he better not throw 2 picks against a shite defense

You can't even make up these numbers...completely retarded and would embarrass me. This is stupid

I want him 18/25 and 275 yds with 2 TD's and zero ints in every single game, he's fully capable. I don't care what Stafford did.

With another 160 on the ground, and a ST/Defense score in every game, we should be just fine.

Screw Stafford. Since when is he the bar against who all UGA QB's be judged?

He never scored more than 18 pts against USCe his whole time here.

We were 1-1 when Eason threw over 40 times last year. 1-3 when throwing over 33 times

55 against Mizz - W
40 against Vandy - L

We are getting manhandled up front if we have to throw that much to win

Next highest, 36 in a blowout loss to OM

then 33 against UF....another loss

Yeah....he's at least number 4 on the list behind Greene, Murray and Zeier.

Greene wasn't a true freshman fwiw, the main reason I used Stafford as a comparison.

I was simply adding to your point. Even redshirt sophomores struggled.

Absurd post. Who gives a damn about stats to the exclusion of everything else? No one.
