With Eason, Chubb, Sony in the backfield, we just need a mediocre line and receivers to score 30 a game.
With our defense we'll only need to score 24.
We're going all the way this year boys.
With all of our problems we are still a more complete team than Clemson was last year.
It is time.

After some thought I think we'll be better in 17 than 18 honestly.
Offense in '18 could/should be better due to OL, WR, and Eason, but losing so much off the defense really scares me. We also trade out MSU at home in '17 for @LSU in '18.

There's not a single team on our schedule that we arent better than.

I like our replacement personnel on defense in 2018 better than I like our OL in 2017.

Our kicking game ,OL and quarterback play will all have to improve substantially for us to win it all. here's to improvement.

It's the same situation for both though; whole lot of talent just short on experience.
Everyone we trot out on defense in '18 is going to be a stud, but a lot of them are going to be real young or fairly inexperienced. Same with the '17 OL.
At any rate, as an overall top to bottom lineup we're going to be in much better shape going forward than we have been as of late.

IMO it all starts in South Bend. March up to ND and whoop some arse...HUGE momentum swing for the rest of the year.
As long as Eason and the WR progress and the fricking OLine is better (not sure how they could be worse) then no reason why we can't at least win the East

Secondary will likely be more athletic and inside LB's plus DL will be as seasoned as it gets and I'm confident our depth will improve this year.
I like the young pups we have coming in with Jaden Hunter and Robert Beal as OLB's. Barring injuries I think '18 is our year. I don't see us getting past Bama in the SEC championship game but there is a reason they play the games.

Playing OL is a lot harder than DB. I'm a QB guy but I think OL is the toughest position on the field next would be QB's and ILB's thanks to RPO's.
Our DB's will not be freshman playing in '18 unless they are redshirted.

I like your optimism and we will have a lot of very good players on D and in our RBs, however, to say that we will be "as complete as Clemson was this year" is over the top.
Eason will be a 2nd year starter. Watson was a senior. Big difference.

Watson wasn't a senior.
For all practical purposes he was. He's gonna be playing at the next level now AND he was playing in his 2nd National Championship.
So, yeah, maybe you're right, but my point remains. Next year Eason compared to this year Watson is just not equal.

We should have a much better squad in 2017 then we did last year, but our schedule is much tougher....2018 is aligning nicely.
We play UT in Tenn, ND in South Bend, Auburn in Auburn, Florida in Florida and GT in Atlanta during 2017.
2018, we play at LSU and Uf in Florida, but that's our only though road games.
We don't have any "tough stretches" in 2017, which is nice considering our away from home schedule.
We will improve next year and could make it to Atlanta, but 2018 is shaping up to be a dream year....barring major arrests or NCAA bullshite

If we struggle to run the football, our offense will struggle to put up points consistently. That is how offensive football works at this level (we have to be able to run in the red zone when the defense wants to stop the run).
Defensively, who is our thumper at safety?
Who is going to hold the edge in the red zone?
I see improvement... but we were run all over in the red zone last season. We can't survive big games like that in 2017.

I'm feeling shades of 2002, let's do this thing

Huh? A senior would been an extra year in the system. He didn't have that. In no way was he a senior.

Watson was incredible his sophomore year. He was probably the best player in college football his sophomore year. The same year Eason is entering.

my point remains
It really doesn't since it wasn't a good point from the beginning.

Lets get up on it. Grab a handful of hair and mount up. Take it. Long-dick this bitch to the end. Bend over the Sec East and hock a loogie into her a-hole.

The East is a 4 (at best) meth-head, but still counts!
