Dude it's a thread trying to stir up shite and project whether our coaches (who may or may not still be at UGA) will mismanage a guy who isn't even on campus yet.
If you're looking for realistic debates, this is not the place.

eeeeexactly. To say Eason is more talented than someone doesnt' mean we're saying he's going to be better or put up better stats.
I mean, up to his minute you can argue stafford is the most purely naturally talented QB we've ever had but that doesnt' mean he's the best. Eason has pretty much anything you could possibly want in a pro-style QB.

Murray currently is the career passing leader in SEC history.
It's nice for him that he's got a record, but basically it just means that the SEC's version of Dan Marino in the NFL - the greatest never-wuzzer. I suspect either would trade their records for a title.

Murray was fine under the Richt system early in his career. His problems were a bad defense, and he had a monkey on his back for making bad decisions against better competition. Nothing he could do for the former, but he grew out of the ladder.
However, don't Expect Eason to come in and light things up whether they let "restrict" him or let him play "his" game. True freshmen quarterbacks do not usually come in and set the world on fire.

Being "fine" and "making bad decisions" are contradictory.

Wow, a freshman QB in the SEC made a bad decision!Imagine that...

You realize that it takes more than a great qb to win a championship. You can't fault them for not winning one unless you want to give all qbs that much credit for winning.

No Qb is perfect, and How can you complain about stalking?

This might be true, but until he takes snaps against a defense the quality of Bama or Florida, or even Mizzou, no one knows whether we have a Stafford or Murray, or a Lambert.
It will likely take about 1 1/2 seasons for him to really be a decent college QB. Maybe longer.

Will Richt/Schotty mismanage Eason?
No, Richt is a proven/excellent QB coach. Schottenheimer will be coaching Eason with assistance from CMR no doubt.

David Greene, DJ Shockley, Matthew Stafford, Aaron Murray...I wonder how they stack up against the rest of UGA's Quarterbacks in history. Oh wait I already know, I feel great about Richt developing him

I didn't fault Murray (or Marino, for that matter) for anything. I simply pointed out that the record resulted in nothing, and the likelihood that either would probably rather have won the championship instead.

Ok, that accounts for the good ones, but Cox, JTIII, Ramsey, Park, LeMay, and Lambert count towards the development record, too.
Taken in total, the record is rather mixed. Some have done well under his tutelage, others have not. Time will tell.
